P. Andrade's second presentation during Paris men's fashion week placed Brazilian street festivities at the centre of its Spring 2027 collection, ‘Sagrado’. Creative directors Pedro Andrade and Paula Kim looked beyond postcard carnival to traditions built through neighbourhood participation and improvised materials.
The references included Rio's bate-bolas, Pernambuco's papangus and the northeastern La Ursa tradition. Crochet masks decorated with gourd seeds, balloon trousers and printed shorts translated the costumes' anonymity, volume and resourcefulness into a contemporary menswear vocabulary.
Catholic imagery sat beside popular carnival codes, reflecting the way sacred and secular life overlap in Brazilian celebrations. The collection did not flatten these practices into a single idea of Brazil; it used their differences to show how identity is assembled locally.
In Paris, that specificity is the proposition. P. Andrade's international argument is strongest when the label treats Brazilian culture not as a general mood, but as knowledge with names, places and histories.
